Millions of new Scholarship $$$ Wow ... MHEC is offering up to $4,000 more for students in shortage careers

Did you know new scholarship money is available to you through MHEC?

To better address workforce needs of the State and to provide an incentive for students to become employed in these fields, the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC)has implemented a new Workforce Shortage Student Assistance Grant (WSSAG).

This program provides scholarships to students who major in specific critical shortage areas in the State.

The following occupations are eligible:

• Teachers - like Irv, Laleh, Joe and Kim
• Nurses - like Jessica and Mark
• Physical Therapists
• Child Care Providers
• Public Service - like Anthony B.
• ... and more!

Award amounts range from $1,000 to $4,000 per academic year. Find the details (eligible majors and employment fields)on the MHEC website www.mhec.state.md.us.
